About OEKO - TEX

OEKO-TEX is the worldwide association of institutes experienced with research and testing in the field of textile and leather ecology. With the close cooperation of members institutes, OEKO-TEX provides important impulses for innovations through close cooperation with the manufacturers their accredited test system. OEKO-TEX has provided various standards aims in providing guidance for product safety and sustainable production in the textile industry.

OEKO-TEX standards & Certifications

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX is a comprehensive, third-party testing and certification system for textile products at all stages of production. Textiles can only be certified if all components meet the specified requirements in the standard. Test criteria are updated annually and go far beyond existing legal regulations.

 

STeP by OEKO-TEX

STeP certification is based on a modular analysis of all relevant areas within production facilities. STeP provides assessments of sustainable manufacturing conditions and is built upon a benchmarking and scoring system which enables facilities to build a traceable path to sustainable textile production.

MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX

The MADE IN GREEN label is awarded to consumer textile products made with materials tested for harmful substances, made in safe and socially responsible workplaces and made in environmentally friendly facilities. The product ID in form of a number or QR Code can be used to trace products and learn more about their production.

 

MySTeP by OEKO-TEX

MySTeP is a database focused on strengthening the textile supply community. Customers can identify and benchmark their full supply chain and view the sustainable performance of each of their production sites. MySTeP helps identify benchmarks and manage risks throughout the supply chain.

 

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX is an independent certification system for textile chemicals, colorants and auxiliaries. It consists of a two-step verification procedure that analyzes if the compounds and each ingredient meet specific criteria for sustainability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

DETOX TO ZERO by OEKO-TEX

DETOX TO ZERO by OEKO-TEX enables manufacturers along the textile chain to assess the status of their chemical management systems and the quality of their wastewater and sludge, all documented using credible, independent verification.

 

LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX

LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX is a worldwide consistent, third-party certification system for leather articles of all levels of production tested for harmful substances. Certificates are issued if all components of an item meet the annually updated requirements.
