About MSC

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a Global Standard for labeling sustainable wild-capture seafood. The MSC Certification recognizes well-managed fisheries that conform to the international standards of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

MSC certification is for

  • Any wild-capture freshwater and marine fishery can get certified with MSC Fisheries Standard.

  • MSC Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard aims to verify the origin of seafood sold as MSC/ASC certified. MSC Chain of Custody certification ensures that companies selling MSC/ASC certified seafood have identification, segregation and traceability processes and procedures in place.
